These Hands Presents Virtual Artisan Pizza Party 2021 for Home Bakers

As a celebration of one year of virtual #ZoomPizzaClasses we are throwing our annual virtual pizza party for all of the pizza “pro-sumers” and power-users out there who have used this last year to take their home pizza games to the next level.

1:00 – 1:15pm – Welcome by Noel Brohner from Slow Rise Pizza Co.

1:15 -1:45pmKeynote Demo with Chris Bianco from Pizzeria Bianco and DiNapoli Tomatoes on dialing in your artisan tomato sauce recipes and techniques followed by a Q&A where Chris will update us on how he has transitioned in 2020 and 2021 with lots of new and exciting projects.

1:45 – 2:15pmStephanie Swane from Modernist Cuisine and Modernist Bread kicks off the book tour of Modernist Pizza, the next book in the award-winning series  which will explore the science, history, equipment, techniques, and people that have made pizza so beloved.

Stephanie will take us through the daunting process start to finish of traveling over 100,000 miles, visiting over 200 of the world’s most highly regarded pizzerias, meeting the pizza makers, collecting their recipes and processes, conducting over 500 experiments in the Lab (including making over 12,000 pizzas).  And, finally, she will share some of the more than 25,000 photos they shot for their book.  You won’t want to miss this.

2:15 – 3:00pmArtisan Pan Pizza Demo featuring the 2020 Recipe of the Year: Crispy Cheesy Cast Iron Pan Pizza from King Arthur Baking with Artisan Baker and Instructor Jennifer Rein from the Bread Lab in Washington State.

3:00-4:00pmVirtual Pizza Bake-Off 

All registered event guests will receive the above Pan Pizza recipe in advance of the event and will be invited to our bake-off to not only learn from both pros and home and “pro-sumers” how to get the most out of the recipe but we will also hold a friendly pizza competition with lots of fun competition categories and prizes.

3:00-3:15 – Presentation of Bake-Off Categories, Rules & Deadlines for Each Category

  • Ooni Oven – pan pizza baked in an Ooni or other high temperature home oven
  • DiNapoli Tomatoes #sauceontop – pan pizza baked “sauce on top” style
  • free-style – pan pizza baked in a cast iron pan or any pan you like

3:15-3:30pm – Pan Pizza Bake-Off in a High Temperature Home Oven with Ooni

3:30-3:45pm – Pan Pizza Bake-Off featuring Sauce On Top Style

3:45-4:00pm – Pan Pizza Bake-Off featuring Free-Style Pan Pizza Bake-Off
